Se ha bautizado como Hotel California a uno de los asentamientos al aire libre del yacimiento arqueológico de Atapuerca y que alberga restos del Paleolítico Medio e Inferior. Tomo el nombre de esta canción de los Eagles porque Hotel California sonaba en el momento de descubrirlo.

El autentico Hotel California está en el poblado de Todosantos, Baja California Sur, México a unos 80kms de la Ciudad de La Paz y como a unos 70 kms de Los Cabos..... Yo lo he visto y tengo fotos de dentro y fuera dl Hotel.
